Dear Cheetah Families,
We are excited to invite you to Reed’s annual Fiesta Celebration! The event will take place tomorrow, Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
This celebration is open to all Reed students and their families. We will have fabulous food for purchase (tamales, tacos, nachos, and more), music performed by our dual-language students, free for the family fun games, a book exchange, and festive ornament sales.
Musical performances are scheduled as follows:
K-2 at 11:30 AM
3-5 at 1:30 PM
We look forward to welcoming everyone as we come together to celebrate our wonderful community!

As we enter the holiday season, it’s a great time to continue strengthening the AVID strategies that support students’ success both in and out of the classroom. Whether students are at school finishing the semester or spending time at home, small, consistent habits can help them stay organized, reflective, and ready for learning.
At Home:
-
Reading for Enjoyment: Encourage students to read holiday stories, articles, or books of interest. Families can model reading to help build a culture of literacy.
-
Family Discussions (Inquiry): Use open-ended questions at the dinner table, during travel, or while baking to spark curiosity and critical thinking—key AVID skills.
-
Real-Life Organization: Students can practice organizational skills by helping plan holiday events, budgeting for gifts, or managing their schedules.
-
Writing: Holiday cards, gratitude lists, or journaling provide authentic opportunities to practice writing in meaningful, low-pressure ways.
By weaving AVID strategies into both school routines and home traditions, we help students stay engaged, confident, and prepared—during the holidays and all year long.

The cold weather is here! Make sure your child has all that they need for recess outdoors. We are outside as long as it is above 18 degrees!
To help with returning of lost or left behind items, please put your child's name inside their outdoor weather gear.
|
December is a busy month! It is important to check Parent Square and all information that comes from your child's teacher and the school to be sure you don't miss something.
|
Parents, our Lost and Found is FULL. We have everything from water bottles and lunch boxes to pants and coats—and more!
Please encourage your child to look through the lost items and retrieve anything that belongs to them.
All items will also be on display during Reed’s Fiesta on December 6th for parents to look through. Any items not claimed by the end of the event will be donated.
To help prevent future mix-ups, we strongly recommend writing your child’s name inside their coat, jacket, or other frequently misplaced items.
Thank you for your help!

We are getting into the holiday spirit!
We are inviting students to join us in our dress days for our countdown to Winter Break. Dress days will begin December 4th!

Just a friendly reminder....
If you need to pick up your child early, please call the office by 2:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and by 12:30 PM on Wednesdays.
This allows us enough time to locate your child, as schedules often change throughout the day and students may be in specials, recess, or other activities. Calling ahead ensures your child is ready and waiting when you arrive.
Thank you for your cooperation and helping us keep dismissal smooth and safe for all students!
